Have you measured today?

I just pulled my famous raspberry white chocolate shortcake out of the oven. I had to use lots of measurement skills to tackle this project. I had to measure the mass and quantity of the ingredients using scales and capacity, remember when we did that in class, measure the temperature of the oven and measure how much time it had been baking for. Have you had to measure anything yet these holidays? Make a comment below :)

Oh, there's the door. Good thing I can think about fractions confidently because I am going to have to share these out equally. Maths, it's all around you!

Our Radishes

These are the radishes that we grew as part of our Rich Task learning. We are learning about plants and growing these from seeds demonstrated the life cycle of a plant.

How we took care of our radishes

We gave them soil and lots of sun by planting them in a box out on our deck. We watered them daily and monitored their growth. We found it very interesting to check on them almost every day.

How they changed

It changed from seed, to seedling, to a much larger plant. It was an interesting experience because it grew so fast.

We found it interesting to learn that you eat the root of this plant. We have not eaten them yet, but we look forward to doing so in the future.

Spelling Investigation of the Week

Why do some words double the last consonant if you add 'er' or 'ing' and others don't? Can you find the pattern?

bat - batter- batting

run-runner-running

trim-trimmer-trimming

push and jump don't double their last consonant.

Add examples and thoughts below.
