Spelling Investigation- Long and Short 'u'





We are learning about the long and short 'u' sound. Can you find a pattern that tells you when a 'u' will have a long or a short 'u' sound?

    Sophie noticed that the long u sound had a i or and e after a consonant.

    Phoebe noticed that when a u makes the short sounds that it is followed by consonants.
